After Approval of NCTE ( National Council of Teacher Education) our institute BAGRU SHIKSHAK PRASHIKSHAN MAHAVIDYALAYA is committed to conduct B.Ed. ( Bachelors of Education ) programme.

NORMS AND STANDARDS FOR SECONDARY TEACHER EDUCATION PROGRAMME BY NCTE

1. Preamble: The secondary teacher education programmed, commonly known as B.Ed. is meant for preparing teachers for Secondary/ Senior Secondary schools.

2. Duration and Intake:

• The B.Ed. programmed shall be of a duration of at least Two academic year.
• There shall be a unit of 50 students for ensuring optimum utilization of physical and instructional infrastructure and expertise of the teaching staff. Division into appropriate batches may be done at the institutional level for effective curriculum transaction.

3. Eligibility:

• Candidates with at least 45% marks in the Bachelor's/Master's Degree with at least two school subjects at the graduation level are eligible for admission.
• Admission should be made either on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination or in the entrance examination conducted by the University/State Government, as per the policy of the State Government/University, to which the institution is affiliated.

4. Curriculum Transaction and Requirement of Teaching Staff:

• There shall be at least 200 teaching days in a year exclusive of period of admission, examination, etc.
• Apart from teaching of foundation courses, there shall be provision for methodology of teaching two out of five school subjects at the secondary level or discipline-specific subjects at the senior secondary level.
• For an intake of 100 students or less, the teaching faculty shall comprise of Principal/Head and at least fourteen lecturers.
